BIO
Jacinta Kaiser is one of the most prominent artists on the painting and visual arts scene that emerged in Santiago, Chile, in the late 2000’s. Kaiser has presented her paintings at international Art fairs such as Miami Art Basel and created murals, including the large 200 squared meters mural that covers one of the three sides of the “Panteón de Tulúm”, a public cemetery in the Mexican city, this in collaboration with Michael Yaikel, Matías Santamaría and Javiera da Fonseca, also Chilean artists.
From her early years, her painting presents a synaesthetic and colorful spirituality that portrays natural phenomena as entities with consciousness and will, imaginary animals, plants, as well as great jazz and rock and roll poets.
Parallel to her painting, she has collaborated with different bands creating posters full of fine and sinuous vivid details for concerts and gigs in emblematic venues.
Jacinta Kaiser’s artistic training begins when, having dropped out of Textile Design and Photography, she decides to dedicate herself fully to painting and art and enters the Eugenio Dittborn (Chilean National Arts Prize) Criticism Workshop, with whom she continues to study for two years.
Since 2009, Kaiser has participated in dozens of collective and individual exhibitions in art centers and galleries in Chile, Mexico and the United States.
In 2018 she published the poetry book “Los Tigres no son de Bengala”. In 2019 she settled in Mexico for a year, toured the country, participated in different art residencies and worked together with the NGO «Impacto & Las Mujeres Bordadoras de Tepeaca», investigating textile work together with urban embroiderers.
Since 2020 she lives and works producing new artwork in Cerro Tacna, Puchuncaví Province, in the Valparaíso Region, from where she also continues to collaborate with Mexico.
